Time to Give
Volunteers give more than 1,300 hours each year to the Friends of Wolf Lake and the Visitor Center in many different ways.
Almost two-thirds of volunteer hours are dedicated to the kids Hook, Line and Sinker program - this includes time assisting with fishing as well as time to maintain and repair equipment.
Almost a third of volunteer hours are dedicated to outdoor stewardship work like maintaining native plant gardens, the prairie, and invasive species removal and also working as a Greeter at the front desk in the Visitor Center.
A smaller number of volunteer hours are used for a variety of other work including helping with the Archery Program, Arrows Away, the Monarch Larva Monitoring Program, the Fish Market gift shop in the Visitor Center, school programs, data entry, graphic design, and trail maintenance.

Unique Contributions
Volunteers give their time for many reasons but most do it because they love Wolf Lake and want to make sure others have the chance to love it too!
Volunteers contribute in a variety of ways, depending on what is needed, their skills/experience, and their interests.
Descriptions of various volunteer positions can be found on the Volunteer page.
If you have something to offer and don’t find it listed, please contact us - we will find a way for you to help!
