Volunteer Position Description

 

Want to help nature and spend time outside while you’re doing it? The Stewardship and Trails volunteer position is for you! Projects include but are not limited to light nature trail maintenance, invasive species removal, native plant garden maintenance, spring clean-up and more! A desire to work outside is a must for this fun and rewarding position at Wolf Lake.  

requirements

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions such as warm summer weather.

  • Position may require some physical effort, such as standing for periods of time and/or light to moderate lifting.

duties

  • Remove invasive plants using basic hand tools such as shovels, loppers, and trimmers.

  • Perform light nature trail maintenance such as clearing brush and trimming branches.

  • Assist with upkeep of native plant pollinator gardens and the prairie using basic gardening tasks and tools.

  • Help keep benches and viewing platforms clean and safe for public use.

  • Clean interpretive panels on nature trails.
